MAGMA gallery è lieta di invitarvi all’inaugurazione di TROPICO, mostra personale di TELLAS, sabato 25 novembre alle ore 18.30.
L’artista sarà presente.

TROPICO racconta di un lungo viaggio nello Stato del Queensland, Australia, fatto da Tellas lo scorso giugno. Come in un prezioso ed intimo diario di viaggio, l’artista cerca di ricordare con le sue opere i colori, i profumi, le suggestioni ed i paesaggi di quelle terre lontane.
Un realismo magico, in cui ritroviamo le atmosfere delle mangrovie impenetrabili della foresta di Daintree, la foresta tropicale più vecchia del mondo, il verde dell’eucalipto, il magnifico rosso della banksia, le palme che si alzano verso il blu del cielo, ed il sole che durante il solstizio d'inverno culmina allo zenit.
Le campiture di colore così larghe, inedite per Tellas, racchiudono minuti dettagli naturalistici ed allo stesso tempo forme astratte vibranti, che sembrano fluttuare nell’aria leggere, poco prima di un’improvvisa pioggia.
Ogni opera diventa un frammento surreale di una natura rigogliosa, quasi asfissiante, eppure silenziosa, misteriosa, in cui è facile passare da osservatore ad essere ospiti osservati, come nella magnifica ed imponente Wet Tropics. I tocchi di bianco, che in Tropico Assoluto diventano lame di luce, nelle opere su carta dettano il ritmo della composizione.
Il Queensland, territorio vastissimo suddiviso tra foreste pluviali, barriere coralline e foreste tropicali, si estende per quasi due milioni di chilometri nell’Australia Nord-Orientale; nelle opere della mostra la forza di questi spazi selvaggi si rivela, rappresentata da un flusso ininterrotto di colori che sembra rinnovarsi continuamente con nuovi significati, nuovi dettagli, nuove avventure e percorsi da intraprendere.
Ogni grande murale, pittura o lavoro su carta di Tellas descrive un mondo, lontano o vicino, reale o immaginario, una natura primordiale e un'energia da cui ci sentiamo inconsapevolmente attratti. Le sue opere sono una visione personale e intima degli elementi del paesaggio, un processo meditativo che combina lo spazio e le forme, trasformando l'uomo in un viandante, smarrito in un mondo senza limiti. Con i loro colori vivaci e dettagli surreali, i dipinti sono riccamente rappresentativi: l'evidenza della mano dell'artista è in ogni segno, in grado di echeggiare i nostri punti di riferimento personali.

TROPICO tells of a long trip to the State of Queensland, Australia, made by Tellas in June. As in a precious and intimate travel journal, the artist tries to remember with his works the colors, the scents, the suggestions and the landscapes of those faraway lands.
A magic realism, where we find the atmosphere of the impenetrable mangroves of Daintree forest, the world's oldest tropical forest, the green eucalyptus, the magnificent red of the banksia, the palms rising up to the blue of the sky, and the sun that during the winter solstice culminates at zenith.
The large fields of color, something new for Tellas, contain minute naturalistic details and at the same time vibrant abstract shapes that seem to fluctuate in the light air, just before a sudden rain.
Each work becomes a surreal fragment of a luxuriant nature, almost asphyxiating, yet silent, mysterious, in which it is easy to switch from observer to being watched guests, as in the magnificent and imposing Wet Tropics. The touches of white, which in Tropico Assoluto become blades of light, in the works on paper dictate the rhythm of composition.
The Queensland, a vast territory divided between rain forests, coral reefs and tropical forests, extends for nearly two million kilometers in North-East Australia; in the works of the exhibition, the strength of these wild spaces is revealed, represented by an unbroken flow of colors that seems to be constantly renewed with new meanings, new details, new adventures and paths to undertake.
Each large wall, painting or work on paper of Tellas describes a world, faraway or close, real or imaginary, that tell about a primordial nature and energy from which we feel attracted. His works are a personal and intimate vision of the elements of the landscape, a meditative process that combines space and shapes, turning man into a wayfarer, lost in a boundless world. With their bright colours and surreal details, the paintings are richly representational: the evidence of the artist’s hand is in every sign, able to echo us our personal landmarks.
