Metamorphosis Club & Klang Roma presents:
❯ S Y Z Y G Y X [USA // Cleopatra Records]
【 LIVE 】
Bleak post apocalyptic soundscapes fused with retro punk biting synth lines and minor scale hooks fuel the sound of the duo S Y Z Y G Y X.
Luna Blanc and Josh Clark have always had a passion for art/creating. Josh has an extensive background in electronic music and Audio Engineering, formerly known as DJ Impulse, he used to make music with Sinthetix/Corrupt Souls in the Drum N Bass genre. Luna has always experimented with keyboards and music composition from a young age, but pursued photography and film in College. Once Luna and Josh met it became obvious after just a few months that they would be making music together.
To keep it interesting, they're always taking turns on everything in their sound: vocals, arps, riffs, bass, drums, pads, the production/engineering of the different aspects of their sound. There is nothing in the process of making music that one does more than the other. Every single aspect from their work, from making sound from scratch to EQ’ing and engineering the sound is made by either Luna or Josh equally. They work from their home studio in the Washington D.C. metro area, and continue to evolve within their sound.
In case you were wondering why the name "S Y Z Y G Y X": Syzygy is a space term for the alignment of celestial objects, or the union of [celestial] bodies, to Luna and Josh that means their music coming together, the X is the unknown.
How do you pronounce S Y Z Y G Y X? Contrary to popular belief, it is not spelled out. It’s a lot easier than it looks! It is simply sy-zy-gyx. (siz-ehjix) “G” is pronounced like a “J”.
You can find their music on your favorite music platform. MAKE SURE TO WRITE IT WITH SPACES IN BETWEEN THE LETTERS: S Y Z Y G Y X. STAY RAD!

New wave & post-punk music for emotional engagement, intellectual stimulation, energetic dancing and nostalgic enjoyment!
PALAIS IDEAL's high-energy songs are constructed from fragments of post-punk and new wave. They use vintage synths, guitars and equipment to create an authentic early 80s sound, inspired by works by The Cure, New Order, The Sound and the Sisters of Mercy.
As musicians and producers, both members have worked on projects for independent and major labels and toured extensively. They have collaborated in their previous bands with members of Wire, Bauhaus, Tuxedomoon, Christian Death, The Legendary Pink Dots, Coil, Clan of Xymox and Swans.
PALAIS IDEAL - Richard van Kruysdijk (bass, baritone guitar, backing vocals, synths, programming) and John Edwards (vocals, guitars, synths, programming) - appeared out of nowhere in December 2016 with the video to their first ever track “Crossfade / Dissolve”. This was soon followed by a four track limited edition 10” white vinyl EP on Dark Vinyl Records: "The Future Has Been Cancelled". They gained immediate attention from worldwide radio shows and signed to booking agencies in The Netherlands (GoMuSic), the UK (8ball) and Germany (FFM). In February 2018, they released their debut album ‘No Signal’.
