Tim FitzHigham is part comedian, part old-school gentleman adventurer" - The Guardian

Tim FitzHigham’s life reads like a Flashman plotline, an episode of the Muppets or something made up by a five year old on a damp weekend – in the words of the former First Sea Lord ‘tragically it’s all completely true!’. He rowed the English Channel in a Thomas Crapper bathtub; broke a 383-year-old record in a boat made of paper, took logs up rivers in South America, farmed nutmeg in the West Indies, narrowly escaped death in the kasbahs of North Africa, invented the volcano marathon, inflated the world's largest balloon and pioneered endurance Morris Dancing. He’s even a quadruple world record holder.
Moreover, he has appeared on TV, Radio and in Films with Clint Eastwood, Matt Damon and Anthony Hopkins among others.
Here's a brief timeline of some of his adventuresome antics....
2003 Broke 383 year-old World Record by paddling a paper boat 160 miles down the River Thames to raise money for Comic Relief.
2005 Tim becomes the first person to successfully row the English Channel in a Bath. He then rowed 200 miles, round Kent, and finished at Tower Bridge, having rowed the last 120 miles following a broken shoulder.
2007 Tim runs up Mount Vesuvius in record time becomes a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and is nominated for the Award for Innovation in Comedy by Chortle.
And a few things people have said about him....

“Tim FitzHigham is unhinged. He is completely without hinges” - Eddie Izzard
“Well done for keeping British eccentricity well and truly alive.” - Sir Ranulph Fiennes
